Every year, the global ANCOP community unites for a noble cause through the ANCOP Global Walk (AGW), a special event that brings people from different parts of the world together to participate in walking events and fun runs. The primary objective of this event is to raise funds for ANCOP's crucial work in supporting poor families though education sponsorship. This year, AGW is taking a local turn with the launch of "AGW Downunder- Australia. Go. Walk."
AGW Downunder is not your ordinary walking event; it's a two-month-long virtual fundraising extravaganza, spanning from September to October 2023. Participants will set and achieve their walking distance goals, making each step count towards a better future for those in need. The event is challenging people to walk, but they can opt to pick similar challenges - running, hiking, jogging, trekking, strolling, treadmill, or even counting daily steps - the choice is entirely up to the participants.
"The AGW Downunder aims to unite Australians from all walks of life, motivating them to stay active and healthy while making a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate," said Ms Lolit Navarro, the event organiser. "We believe that everyone has the power to bring about change, and through this virtual event, we provide an opportunity for individuals and communities to come together for a common cause."
The registration for AGW Downunder will go live on 25th August, and participants can sign up via the online platform Gofundraise. Individuals can join as solo walkers, form teams with friends, family, household members, or even colleagues, and work together to accomplish their walking goals. Setting up a personal fundraising page in Gofundraise will be a breeze, allowing participants to share their journey and collect donations from generous supporters.
The event's official online launch will take place on 25th August, streamed live through the CFC ANCOP Facebook page, where attendees and participants will be provided with all the essential details and updates leading up to the September kick-off.
AGW Downunder is not just about individual health and well-being; it is a call to action to support CFC ANCOP Australia's critical initiatives in the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. Every dollar raised through the event will contribute to education, community development, and livelihood programs, bringing hope and transformation to the lives of many disadvantaged families and communities.
"By participating in AGW Downunder, you are not only taking care of your health but also changing lives," emphasised Ms Navarro. "Together, we can make a difference and be the beacon of hope for those in need, empowering them to build a brighter future."
